Basic types of drilling fluid:

  1. Water base drilling fluid:
  • Frash water drilling fluid
  • Brine water drilling fluid
  • Calcium treated mud
  • Lower solid phase
  • Oil emulsion mud
    
       
  2. Oil base drilling fluid:
  • Water-in-oil emulsion mud : use oil as disperse medium, water and organic solid or other oleophilic powder as sipersed
    phase, add in emulsifier.
  • Oil base drilling fluid : made of diesel oil and asphaltum( or organic solid) and related treatment agents
